ACTIVITY
 Many,
many years ago.... students of RSHU have taken part in field work,
which has taken place in Porto (Portugal). And they have meet representavies
of EGEA- Porto. After that our own entity was created. That was
in 1996. Sincethat time more than
100 members of EGEA- St. Petersburg had been taking part in EGEA
competitions. In October 2001 on the basis of EGEA-St. Petersburg
the social organisation "St. Petersburg geographical association
for students and young geographers" was created to work more
efficiency as well as officially to represent the organization during
executing of the mission and the tasks.
Our
present activity and the plans for 2003/2004
- Participation
of youth geographers in annual and regional Congresses of EGEA;
- Student
exchanges ;
- Launching
special trainig course "Scientific Literacy for youth sicentists";
- Working
out the course "Development of eco-tourisim and environmental
protection in urbanised areas on the expample of St. Petersburg
area";
- Working
out multimedia project "Introduction to GIS ";
- Working
out the book "Internet for geographers";
- Working
out several thematical electronic maps dedicated to 300th anniversary
of SPb;
- Public
initiatives on protecting of historical objects in Viborg;
- Cooperation
with NGOs of SPb;
- Involving
new people to EGEA activity.
